Ammonia Removal Experiment Using Bio-Cord Sewage Waste Application

Experiment using Polyvinylidene-Chloride BC-3

Experiment Conditions:

  • Capacity of tank (which is separated into four parts) 1.8m3
  • Aeration 1.3m3/m3/h
  • Quantity of Bio-Cord 60m/ m3/tank (total 108m)

Diagram 1: Indicates DO (dissolved oxygen) concentration and ammonia nitrification rate. We don't consider BOD load or water temperature.

We have found that when the dissolved oxygen gets high, nitrification increases.

With regards to nitrification using Bio-Cord in a sewage application the capacity of removing NH3 depends on the application conditions, for example BOD load, water temperature and detention time etc.

That is why without considering the using condition, it is difficult to say capacity of removing NH3 by Bio-Cord per meter.
